Thanks Bounty_Hunter, As far as what is cheaper, I already have the 88 Cherokee so the cost of the motor and transmission is nothing. But if it would be way too much work then I would rather not do it at all. I really would like to have a 4.0 in the YJ, but I don't want this to be one problem...

Okay here is a newbie question, :roll: I have a 1988 cherokee with a 4.0 and automatic transmission that I would like to put in my 1989 Wranger. Right now the Wrangler has a 2.6 with an AX-15 transmission. The Cherokee is complete and so is the Wrangler. Is this possible without having to...
