    Now all the symptoms have changed. No more freaky horn and it isles right at 700... It's like nothing ever happened except now when driving and the rpms are at about 1600-1900 rpms it spurts and lurches... My xj is having a mental breakdown

    Okay so I was right...my throttle body was dirty as hell and I cleaned all the sensors and even replaced the tbs.. didn't work. I even seaphoamed the intake and vacumm lines and while I was lookeing under to see if I had any loose lines my horn started blaring.(right in my ear B\ scared the crap...

    I had a similure propblem months ago.. I had to start jumping the contacts on the ignition relay.. I replaced the relay and still didn't work.. now I have a push button wired into the contacts cause I wad fed up with it

    Can't bodylift an xj... They have unibody frames and the frame is welded to the body so theres no way to lift it

    I agree. Make sure you battery terminals are firmly connected. They may appear to be connected but if it doesn't have a real strong firm connection it your starter won't be able to draw enough amps to work properly

    Ah yes. The mighty gray sticky fix it all cloth ... I do believe I used it to reatache my lower control ARM mount when I ripped it off on the trails a few months back...

    It sounds like the 4wd just took a while to be disengaged. If you disengage it while driving sometimes there will be too much pressure for it to realease. When it does it will pop out of gear kinda hard. Nothing to worry about but you should always try to be in neutral when shifting out of 4wd
