    Chrome or no chrome?

Im usualy only a fan of chrome on my big trucks, but that actualy looks pretty good, it works well with the lights you have on the fenders, I say keep the chrome, it gives your Jeep character without being overdone, the only chrome Ive seen so far that looks good on a Jeep

95 Wranglel YJ home made Brute project!

Most brute projects are done for the purpose of stretching the wheelbase to 110 or 120 inches, if your not extending the frame there is an after market hard top available that gives you a truck cab easily, well built and comparably inexpensive, or you can get the same effect from a duster and...

    Balancing experience...Goodyear Duratrac's

I wouldn't trade my Duratracs for anything, I run 33s and will only take them off when I go to 35s, when I go 35s I may look at Goodyear Kevlar, those are the tires I see most on the trails other than Duratracs.

sway bars or no sway bars?

We were talking about REAR sway bars, not front

sway bars or no sway bars?

Lol, wind? I live in southern Wyoming where 40mph winds are an everyday thing and have been in trucking for 23 years, currently I run mail contracted to USPS (that means running light or empty daily across the Rockies), I know a tiny little bit about driving. I wasn't putting anyone down, if...

sway bars or no sway bars?

And I, having driven a few thousand miles with and without, on and off road, highway speeds and slower don't want people to read this and think there is a noticeable difference, there isn't, try it for yourself and see. Of course I'm talking about a TJ with coils, not a YJ, and I'm not talking...

sway bars or no sway bars?

And if all you have is sand and mud you wouldn't be asking about your rear sway bar, and if all you do is street driving in a Jeep convertible you wouldn't be asking about removing sway bars either, and if that's all you then this isn't a thread you should worry about as its a non-issue for the...

sway bars or no sway bars?

If you want to be safe, buy a Volvo, if you want streetability and 4 wheeling that's just sand or dirt roads, get a Toyota, for serious off-roading flexing crawling climbing being amazed by what you can do, a Jeep that's moderately built up is the only way to go, and to get the most out of...

sway bars or no sway bars?

All I know is when it comes to crawling, there are no sway bars on a 4 link

sway bars or no sway bars?

Sorry, did I miss the part where this became a race car or performance car forum? lol There is a bolt on version of the variable sway bar for the rear, like most of these 'anti-rock' type setups they are very pricey and don't seem to me to do much more or less than the stock sway bar.

sway bars or no sway bars?

Lol, if you drive ANYTHING fast enough and in a circle it will roll, thats where skill and discretion comes in, a Jeep isn't a sports car, I have a sports car for going fast and cornering, I have a Jeep for crawling and doing obstacles, I don't drive mountain trails in my Fiero and I don't...

sway bars or no sway bars?

I've never seen rear disconnects, since the rear sway bar is mounted to the axle it would just get in the way even more than when it's connected. I took my rear off and have disconnects for the front, been almost 2 years with no rear and I only see / feel a difference when crawling as it does...
  17. O_M_Jeep

    Oh, crap :-/

No matter if one shaft is disconnected or not, if one wheel is turning the driveshaft must turn, it has no choice.
  18. O_M_Jeep

    Oh, crap :-/

on the TJ the front axle acts in the same way the rear axle does, the spider gears and carrier / ring and pinion are always turning when the tires are turning, so the front shaft is always turning, what allows the shift on the fly 4wd and the reason you have to be rolling at a very slow speed to...

    Really really need some help!!!

if it wont idle properly until it warms up, that could be anything from vaccuum to fuel to timing, I havent seen anyone yet mention the Throttle Position Sensor, I just replaced mine, its fairly cheap and extremely easy and they can cause some very odd symptoms. Good luck with it and please...
