fuel mileage suxxx on my 95 2.5

my XJ can pull a horse trailer with two horses from here to roanoke and average better mileage than that, rolling on 32s. no trailer, 21-23 hwy. and i've pushing about 270 hp, 330 ft/lbs. might be time for an upgrade. ;)

    mall parking

speaking from a strictly utilitarian perspective, if anyone should be driving up and down looking for good parking spaces, it's the low emissions vehicles. to give them easy parking and make the jeep guy do all the parking lot crawling, that's just killing our planet.

bump for buyers wanting an AWESOME deal on a hesco stroker that's been very well cared for.

nice siggy, lol. thanks for what you do.

    inline 6 strokers?

since i'm trying to sell my xj here, i'm not going to mention anything about it being airborn. ;) lol...

    inline 6 strokers?

cool. but after all that, i'm a little surprised you don't see the advantages of an inline 6. ;-) on the other hand, i'm not making 400 ft.lbs. for that, you'd have to talk to this guy: mark wheeler is a regular on the hesco forums. he runs a 4.7 stroker with supercharger and nitrous...

    want to go bigger

you could... but you'd have more travel with different shocks. it kinda depends on what you do with it, where you go, how hard, how fast. they're not cheap, but consider the ACOS adjustable spacers. lots of flexibility there for future upgrades or eventual sagging. got 'em on my rig, love 'em.

    inline 6 strokers?

none taken. thanks for the clarification. our math is a little different, but you make some good points. as a mechanic, you're in a good position to think a little more outside of the box with your build, because you're ALWAYS the person working on it. also, you probably (hopefully) have...

    inline 6 strokers?

you got me on nothing sounds better than a sbc. and i'll not be cranking out better than 400 lbs. torque without forced induction. but i'm not sure how you get better driveability. or a third of the price. you plan on low tech, carbureted, disconnect most of your factory electronics...

    inline 6 strokers?

for the foremost authority on jeep strokers and all kinds of performance goodies, check out hesco in birmingham. they made my jeep more fun than i could ever imagine, and with great knowledge and reliability. do a search on them, too. you'll see they have a great reputation far and wide.

    inline 6 strokers?

nobody has any experience with a stroker? well, for anyone looking for more power from their jeep, there is no single mod that will produce more reliable power. and oh, the power. better torque than a built 350 v8 swap, and it's available right off the line. you don't have to wind the engine...

    Fluttering noise under car

good call, that one totally slipped me. that one can be easy to hard to diagnose, depending on just what stage it's in. sometimes your check engine light will help you out, often it won't.

anyone pull a boat with the 4.0?

very doable, however... you'll want to install a trans cooler if you don't already have one.

1998 XJ Hesco stroker, Dana "Super" 44

um, sorry about the price. forgot to list it! this jeep can be yours for $8,899.00. one drive in this thing and everything else will feel so slow and gimpy.

    Fluttering noise under car

happens only under load. likely an exhaust leak. check your exhaust manifold at the collector (where all the exhaust pipes from the different cylinders come together). likely cracked there. don't bother replacing it with another factory manifold, go ahead and buy an aftermarket header. MUCH...

    High Pitched Noise

coolant temp been steady? with an intermittent bearing problem, you may have intermittent rising of temps.

    High Pitched Noise

could be the bearing in your water pump, also. keep an eye on 'er.

    RPM Revs

sometimes, even after i've changed my TPS, i've still had a lingering problem as you've described. on two occasions a follow up treatment with seafoam throttle body cleaner did the trick.

    inline 6 strokers?

i've just joined this forum, as i'm looking to sell my own rig. but that's not why i'm posting here in this section. i was browsing and noticed that in the first two pages of this "jeep performance" section, there is no discussion (that i could find by the titles, anyway) of stroked 6 cylinder...
