Sorry Andrew - in my opinion your 1st post paralleled some teaser trolling posts of the past. I was too quick to judge. A bit more explanation or the above link in your post would have helped me understand more. I sit corrected. LBR
I would lean towards the no side. If we had a dedicated political section I'm afraid that may encourage more political threads, which is great, but will also raise the % chances of heated debates and confict between members. I personally don't like seeing and reading the conficts, yanking of...
Oops - my apologies to you Landrover71 and the rest of the Zers - I ASSUMINGLY misread this post as one to bait the forum members. In the past, there have been a few threads that started out with a pretty redundant question/statement and after many replys from members it turned out to be someone...
Hi Jim - just curious where you reside that you can't pay a few $$$$ for delivery of a ring & pinion set instead of all the costly $$$$ and driving time horsing around listed above? No UPS or FedEx services available? LBR
Pedal lightly until that lean mixture problem is eraticated - blown engines running lean usually end up as "blown" engines if left unchecked for too long of time. LBR
Bingo! When you deleted the alarm system with the starter interupt feature would probably be the answer. The box was wired inbetween the solenoid and switch for that part of security. There are probably 2 wires that you cut to remove that system that now need to be reconnected. Have fun...
Not real familiar with your 88 wiring of starting system but...1) Does the wire attached to the solenoid from the switch have 12 volts to it when a helper turns the switch to "start?" 2) Is that wire connected to the correct solenoid terminal? 3) Did the solenoid just go bad during your work...
Ditto - anywhere I use to use Armor All or such I now use Lemon Pledge. Gives a great shine, easy to apply and wipe, don't have to be careful applying it and isn't the dust collector. LBR
Because the buzzer changes tone when the starter circuit is energized, leads me to believe that the solenoid/starter is sucking up some juice or a discharged battery. Turn on the headlights and try starting it. Do the headlights dim down "normally" or do they virtually go out? LBR
Another good idea is to pull both heater hoses loose and backflush the heater core. The coolant travels the same direction (in one hose and out the other) for the life of the vehicle. Most sediment that won't pass thru the core gets hung up at the inlet portion of it. When you pressurize the...
Seems as tho I remember someone chiming in some time back 'bout using a heat gun VERY carefully. Makes sense to "melt" the top layer of the flare to bring the original black up to the surface. Anyone try that? LBR
Looks very nice Terry - the "Zs", like everything else in this world, will never be perfect to everyone, but since you never quit striving for excellence here....that makes it perfect to me. (now where did that kiss-butt smiley go?) LBR
