    Jeep Pickups

Usually the knarlier the better. Bfg's, goodyear, Dunlop, I think they all make good tire's. Cooper used to make one heck of a mud tire but I think they've changed it up a bit.

    Handheld GPS

I'm not really fluent in these thing's so I have a few ?. I'm looking at a used Garmin GPS Map76-am, I'm assuming that it's a few year's old since I can't find it in my old cabeala's catalog's. Does anyone know anything about these unit's? I know it doesn't have topo, that would have to be...

    jeep wave

If you want to wave at everybody, get you a bike that look's like a Harley from 10 miles away and everyone will wave you. You'll be so tired of waving after a while.... That's what happened to me. I'll still wave at another Jeep when I'm in mine, but I've noticed that people in newer Jeep's...

    Shackles bow out

If that don't work, the only other thing that I can think of is that that spring perch's have been replaced and they weren't welded back in the correct spot. But if that's the case you should have noticed it before you put the new lift on it.

    1973 Jeep J-2000 4x4

I'll get the measurement's but I don't think your truck and mine share the same spring's. The CJ-7 is a 1978 and the front spring is 2" wide and from front to rear frame mount is approx. 43" (this is not including the shackle). The rear spring is 2.5" wide and from front to rear frame is approx...

    1973 Jeep J-2000 4x4

Measure the truck spring's and compare them to a CJ's. If you don't have one to compare to let me know and I'll measure mine for you. As far as the distributor goes, if it will work you will have to get an ignition module also. How much did you give for J-2000? I gave $400 for my '66.

    Several (related) Steering Problems

I agree, and it only takes a few minutes to pull the driveshaft. Once you pull the axles out, gear oil will leak out unless you keep it fairly level. And when you do get the axles out, check the u-joint to see if that's what your problem was.

    Several (related) Steering Problems

It seem's to be either the hub or the axle. I would take the axles out and drive it around and see if it's any better.

    Fuel economy

I know a mechanic here in town that put a 4-cyl. bobcat motor (diesel) in a CJ-5 and said that he got over 30 mpg.

    Fuel economy

How's the cost of gas going to affect your daily lives, four-wheelin', fishin', maybe just driving to work? Me, I used to go offroad 3 or 4 times a week, either in my Jeep or on my fourwheeler. And If I wasn't going wheelin' I was going fishing. Now, I've quit my job for one closer to home and I...

    Backspacing

When I had my TJ I put 33x12.50's on the stock rim, I think they were 7.5 or 8" wide. If I remember right I had to grind some of the rear spring bucket off.

how many cj frame seperation problems?

I used to always crack the bracket's that bolt the box to the frame, until I bought a brace. It's been about ten year's now and I haven't had a problem with it!

    New tires on stock rims

    I had '98 sport and I think the rims were 15x7 or 7.5. I put a set of 33 x 12.50's on it.

    My Rear End :)

Not trying to be smart or anything, but how can you not see what kind of rear-end you have? The dana 30 front and the dana 35 rear have basically the same size and shape diff-cover. The dana 44 is completely different. Get down and look at your front-end(the shape of the diff-cover) and then go...

    Jeep Rubicon's

Anyone have a TJ or JK Rubicon? If you have one, do you take it off-road? I have a 78' CJ-7 and before that I had a 98' wrangler. I'm kind a getting the bug to get another wrangler and if I get one it's got to be the Rubicon. But, for the price of 30k+ a new loded out silverado or gmc would be...

    The New Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon

Are the new wrangler's independant or straight axle front end? Also they've done away with the 4.0 six and went with a smaller 3. something v-6, right?

    Old's motor/transmission in Jeep

I have two Nissan 300 ZX's for sale for $1500 or trade. I told my boss at work about them and he is interested in trading his mid-80's Old's Cutlas Supreme with a v-8 and 3-speed auto transmission. I crrently have a CJ-7 that I drive daily, I also have another frame and body. I was thinking...

    Several (related) Steering Problems

My steering pops and rattles, it is in the bearings in the column. Don't if this is it but could it be the axle u-joints? Even with the hubs un locked and in 2-wheel drive the front axle will sometimes turn just a little. Maybe the u-joints have seized causing the steering to get hard at times...

    Headlights

I have a '78 CJ-7. The other night I was letting my Jeep warm up getting ready to come home from work. I turned on the lights and couldn't see them and the dash lights were low. I turned on the hi-beams and everything worked just like it should. I thought the dimmer switch was bad so I replaced...
