Not eating better per se, just a lot less. A lot less! 26 pounds and counting. Now to get moving more. Try to run again after patella tendon surgery and lose more weight. Does give me more energy.

That would have to be one big winch loaded for a long time to do that to a running Jeep. Cars run on the alternator when running, charging the battery. Now if your alternator died, different story. Check it. The alternator that is..

Is your proportioning valve on the frame? If you have headers might be too close to it, might have caused a leak. Just a thought, but lots of places there could be a leaky connection.

I built a ‘79 cj7 from the ground up. Had it since around 2000. Still working with it. My son wants it when he can drive in a couple of years.

Nice Jeep. I have a 1979 cj7 myself, along with a jk and a 392. Looks like a fiberglass tub and some sort of v8 under the hood by that exhaust pipe. Like JPNinPA said make sure runs, steers and stops well first and foremost. Then the rest depends on what you’re going to do with it.

Not bad. I have a 79 cj7 with the 304 with the three speed transmission. I can tell ya that one is going to get hot unless you get a shroud on it. Mine didn’t have it either and took a bit to figure that out. Lots of good upgrades you can do. I’ll try and get a pic of what I’ve done if you...
