Just a thread to kill time

I paid $3.85 for diesel yesterday. I put in $100 worth, the most ever.

    Door not sitting right

The doors are adjustable. Loosen the screws on the hinges and you can adjust the door up and down where you need it. You can likely set it back where it was by looking at the difference in paint or lack thereof around the hinge.

    Petition to save Johnson Valley

No, I have never served. My two grandads, father and brother are all vets, and I work with the Army and Marine Corps every day. I have the utmost respect for the military, but that doesn't mean that just because they say they need something we should just hand it over without question...

    Petition to save Johnson Valley

I support the military too, but how much land do they need for training? How many bases do the army and marines already have in California? More than enough for desert training. BRAC is steady closing bases every year. How can they justify expansion?

    Fuel Pressure Question

Woud have probably been easier to just by the pressure regulator from Summit for $100. See, this chasing ghosts thing will drive you nuts and here you are back to wanting to change the tank. Bottom line is, you need a pump, regulator, return and the proper fuel pressure. It doesn't have to be...

    rear passeger sagging

Check to see if any of the control arm bushings are bad or arms are bent. You are describing a condition known in suspension terms as "squat." It refers to the pinion angle rotating upward under acceleration (pinion gear trying to climb the ring gear) due to a lack of the axle housing being...

I got DW. No, not Darrell Waltrip

Your'e exactly right. I was sitting there scratching my head wondering how the toe could have gotten that far out of spec with a small caster change. I forgot that the TJ tie rod is not knuckle to knuckle. One of the mods needs to make this a Sticky in the tech forum as "The Official Death...

I got DW. No, not Darrell Waltrip

I agree with what Bounty said, but believe in both South and Terry's case the Toe is the culprit. I'm no expert at alignment by any means, but if you look at South's data on the TOE, it says that before alignment his total TOE was 1.09". They adjusted it out to about .24" In simple terms your...

    WooHoo! Going to Moab!

I don't mind a ride along, but I really want bring the family and get a couple of my wheeling buddies to go. I'll make it happen, it just won't be this spring like I had hoped. The old Jeep is ready to go and I'm itching to see what a southern trail Jeep can do on some slick rock.

I got DW. No, not Darrell Waltrip

The reason no one can give you a definite answer is that there are several things that cause the steering and axle geometry to get out of whack. Sometimes it's worn components, sometimes it's mods you have made to the Jeep. You will have to look at each area.

That's cold. It looks more proportionate to this Jeep: It'll buff out.

    WooHoo! Going to Moab!

Well Utah, I read the book you suggested and even went as far to figure up the cost of Jeep shipping and renting scenarios. I would come out the best and be happiest by just trailering my Jeep out. Unfortunately, all my buddies have bailed due to work and moreover, diesel prices. At today's...

How to spend your tax rebate check

Yes, but that is precisely what your not supposed to do with the check. Tax Rebate or whatever, it is part of an economic incentive package. They want you to spend it to revive the economy. "As you may have heard the Bush Administration said each and every one of us would now get a nice...

    Fuel tank ????'s

Or get an in-line regulator like this: Mallory 4305M - Mallory Universal Fuel Pressure Regulators for Fuel Injection - summitracing.com Says it has a return line and gauge port. I assume you will need the gauge on there at least temporarily to set the pressure. I put a gauge on mine years ago...

    Fuel tank ????'s

Google is great. Customized Wiring Tech » Blog Archives » Jeep 4.0L Fuel System The 4.0 needs 45 psi. This article says the regulator for your year engine is in the tank. Older 4.0's had them in the fuel rail with a return line to the tank. The way I see it, you have two choices, get...

    bad weekend

My root canal didn't hurt. I really don't understand the whole cap/crown thing. They drill a hole straight down into the tooth, kill the nerves and the pain is gone. So why can't they just fill the hole like a cavity? Instead they grind the rest of the tooth down on all four sides and put on...

    good buy for a cj8?

I bet he's got more than $7k in it. It looks good from the two pictures, but hard to say if it's worth it without more. Does it have a commercial bedliner or do-it-yourself? How's does it look under the hood..wiring mess or clean? Is the underside in as good shape as the interior and...

I was gonna say square headlights, but that's never been a real debate for me anyway. Looks like time for some DOM and ram assist.
