I'll proubly just rent that one then. Will I need a puller for the cam gear or as soon as that's unbolted it will come right off?

Do I just use the regular one with the center main bolt and 3 outer bolts or the specialized Chrysler puller?

So I was in the parts store today and was looking at the tool rentals cause I new I need a harmonic balancer puller. Then I saw some other once like cam clamp... Cam gear puller and another type of harmonic balancer puller made just for chrysler, my question is which harmonic balanced puller do...

When the dots on the gears line up that means engine is at top dead center right?

Does it matter what stroke the engine is at or as long as the 2 dots line up? I picked up the cloyes timing kit and should be getting started friday

It should be after the cat before the muffler... I have a 97 4 cylinder and that's where mine is located

How did you torque the cam down? Did it try to move with the ratchet or did it stay still?

Please explain the whole use the old bracket method? What did u have to do in steps? I plan in taking a ton of pics for referance

Do I need to mess with the distributor at all? Planning on doing this before my next oil change so I can get that knocked out too

Ok yes I em familiar with that. Also planning on a new pan gaskets since that needs to be dropped to get to the tensioner. I think autozone sells a gaskets kit that includes all the gaskets and seals I need to do this, unless you think it may be a bad idea and those gaskets will be cheap ones...

Main seal for the crank? How do I do that

So in the case the cam shaft moves a little is it safe to reverse the direction to put it in the correct alignment?

I only ask cause to remove the sprocket for the cam you need a wrench. Well I'm afraid that might rotate the cam instead of the bolt.

Would the cam be able to move freely? I wouldn't think so due to the push rods clingy to the valves, i just want to be sure. I would hate for either the cam or the crank to move why'll the chain is off messing up the timing all together

You can try spraying the lines with carb cleaner and listen for an idle change. That what I did on my older vehicles and it work well for me
