It could have took 5 years for something to slowly get loose. Anything can happen. As for the filler tube I'm not sure if air in the tank matters aslong as its not in the line. Cause when you open the gas cap air would get in regardless. It check the tube for any leaks anyway just to make sure...

To me it doesn't make sense cause the chain is metal and would expand with heat. Your problem is its rough then as the temp gets hotter then it runs better. Cause when its cold the chain would be tight and expand as it gets hot. I'm not saying rule the chain out but it may not be your issue but...

Did autozone say when they will have the gauge fixed? Maybe the 45mile drive will be worth to rule out the fuel system. Or maybe it could be a timing issue. Have you pulled all the plugs out and checked there color or any carbon? No cracks or moisture in the distributer?

The only way to know its the iac is putting in one that is known to be good. I was having an issue on my tj and I unplugged my iac and the idle drop it was running poorly and it stalled went in the cab and there was a cel on telling me that the iac was bad. Long story short the iac in my jeep...

Is there another autozone nearby? Didn't you say you had a friend with the same year yj? If yes you should ask him if you can borrow his iac and see it runs better with a iac that is known to be working.

1050 ohms? What does your temp gauge read? I don't think its a temp issue but could be wrong. It may be fuel or pcm related since it runs fine after you warmed it up. Did the code pop back up?

When is autozone opening back up? We need to rule out fuel pressure as the cause of the poor idle

Disconnect the idle air control valve and see if anything changes with the idle. I know here in az around November is when it starts getting cold so I difference in thermostat would make a difference. But thermostats are dirt cheap. So I'm confused you said it started to run better with the o2...

In that last part any of those problems should trip the cel. But then again the obd 1 computers were always alittle hard to work with. You don't need to buy a gauge. Autozone or any other parts store should rent them out for free ( you pay full price for the tool and when you return it you get...

how come you went down to 180? Iv always been told that you have to keep the the thermostat at 195. It's what the engine wants to run at to be efficient. I had a similar problem on my tj the thermo was opening to soon and not letting it get hot wasn't running as good. After I replaced it I...

    jeep tj braking problem

I think i ruled out the brakes. Cause it only does it above a certain speed and it isn't consistent. But I did notice wheel bearing play.. could the bearings going out cause this? The steering wheel does shake quite a bit above 50. It's not a death wobble iv already experienced that and this...

    jeep tj braking problem

Dang really? It didnt seem like it went very far... Maybe I would say the same distance as if the pads were wore down.. I watch the piston and had my brother press the brakes.. it doesn't pull when I'm going slow under 30mph. But above that it still pulls. I check the tire pressure and on the...
