jacking up a yj high enough for SOA install

I am DEFINETELY keeping the tires on the axles for this. I am going to find some railroad ties to use for wood blocks under the jacks and jack stands. Thanks West for the idea. As for lifting the jeep with jacks, I will put the jacks on railroad ties and a sheet of plywood for the jack to...

jacking up a yj high enough for SOA install

You guys don't get it, it is way too heavy. There is no other way for me to do this other than with the tires on. The whole bench press thing is just an example. How do you expect me to lift an axle that low to the ground anyway?

jacking up a yj high enough for SOA install

I guess none of ya'll have ever lifted an '81 wagoneer front axle before. It is extremely heavy. I bench 200 lbs and my friend benches 215 lbs. We had a hell of a time just carrying it while standing up. I guess I need to go buy wood from Lowes. I think I will buy 2x6 boards and cut them...

jacking up a yj high enough for SOA install

Our dana 44's must weigh different then. Anyway, the 14 bolt has no chance of being done like that.

Yeah it is a rota bar. I hate it. It shakes way too much and nothing you can do about it. The center bar is a cheap piece of metal. If you havent started the instal, send it back. Trust me on this.

jacking up a yj high enough for SOA install

I was doing a test trial today to see how high I could get it. I used 5 square concrete stepping stones and some boards to put a jack on. I ran out of wood to put under the jack stands. I got the jeep up high enough with the jack, but I do not feel like lifting one side of the jeep up at a...

jacking up a yj high enough for SOA install

The jackstands need to be raised up another 6 inches or so. They are 6 tom jack stands, not the 3 ton jack stands.

Taking the tires off is impossible. It will be way too heavy.

jacking up a yj high enough for SOA install

no i want the tires on to make it easy to roll around. It is not easy lifting a dana 44, mush less possible to lift a 14 bolt.
