HP 44 front maybe and a 9 inch rear would be lighter and you would have more clearance

Yes you are right F150s have 8.8s everything up has 60 and I think even 70s

I never said a Rubicon could not run 37's all I said was that if you find a person selling rubicon 44's they are really proud of em. If you can afford them go ahead. I could rebuild a front and rear end almost for the price of a rubicon 44, let alone front and rear rubicon 44's.

There is an 8.8 in it. No bigger than 37s an 8.8 should be fine just don't be scared of other axles such as the 9 inch people make it sound scary to rebuild them but really it isn't any harder than any other rear end... Don't be intimidated by what people say!!!! I learned that a long time ago

You definatly don't need 60s for 37s!!!! An 8.8 with superior shafts is plenty

    Lockers and gears

In the end it's all up to you it's whatever you want to do. It just depends on what you want to do with your jeep, if you are not planning on running any bigger than 36 or maybe 37s then yeah an 8.8 would benefit you . I know exactly how you feel I'm a 19 year old college student, and oh yeah...

ok ? whats the benifit of a ford 8.8 rear end

I think the idea of starting a project for your son is awesome I wish my dad would have been interested in my jeep when I was 16, at that age my dad was doing everything he could to get my attention away from my jeep... It would have meant a lot to me if my dad had taken the slightest interest...

ok ? whats the benifit of a ford 8.8 rear end

Wow you are gonna have a pretty sweet setup when your done ... An 8.8 is nowhere near strong enough for what your wanting , you should consider 60s or maybe if you could find em for a good price rockwells. I would love to see your jeep when it is done, sounds like it is going to be pretty nice

ok ? whats the benifit of a ford 8.8 rear end

If I was you I would never even consider an 8.8 , if you have all that I would be running at least a 9 inch rear and a HP44 front but if it was my rig I'd probably have 60s . But if your front and rear endeavor held up I say if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Rubicon 44s are a good axles also but then again if you can find one whoever has it is extremely proud of it!!!

    Lockers and gears

I dont know about where you live but around here where I live its not easy to find an 8.8 and when you do it cost. It is just as easy to do a 9 inch or even a 60 but i doubt he wants to do either, a 8.8 is only a hair stronger than a 35 with superior axles anyways.

    Lockers and gears

I'm sorry but I am Goin to have to disagree with you, the thirty five gets a bad rep all the time and the truth is that it's a good rear end and can be built to be pretty strong. For unless running larger than 35 inch tires in my opinion the 35 will be fine. Like I said I have seen what the 35...

    Lockers and gears

Honestly if you really wanna know what I think and yes I am probably gonna catch flak for this but if all you are gonna run is up to 33's you don't need anything bigger than a Dana 35 !!! I have been running 36.5 inch bias Buckshots on mine for 6 months with nothing bad happening .... And I put...
