No it doesnt where the winch plate bolts to your jeep is not any higher than a non raised winch plate it raises in the middle where the winch mounts , they are pretty strong I winched a F 250 out of a mud hole just the other day , I have a 10,000 pound winch and the winch plate hasn't shown any...

Like i said you can fit a winch on that bumper you just have to get a raised winch plate!!! you can get one on ebay for around 80 bucks. I have done it, I had the exact same bumper and mounted a winch on it when nobody said I could. It will not require cutting your bumper at all!!!!

You can fit a winch on your bumper you just need a raised winch plate. I did it with my old tube bumper just like yours. U can usually get one on eBay pretty cheap and if you are looking for a good winch around $400.00 look at smittybilt they make good quality winches, I know a lot of people...

Its goin in my 97 TJ. Im using the stock syle suspension, nothing customized or fancy. I tried ballistic but I dont know which ones to get and there customer service wont really tell me much. I gues there just to used to people doin 3 links and stuff like that.

I might have already asked this but does anybody know where I can get some brackets for a Ford 9" where the price isnt outrageous? I didnt expect the brackets to be the most expensive part of the rear end!!! thanks in advance!!!:-)

You could try a 9" I know a guy thats been running one with 40's for years now with no problems and he puts that thing through hell and back

I just got a HP 44 front end from a 76 F150 and a Ford 9". You could do that if you wanted to spend a good bit of time and effort. They would be wider than your stock axles but you could get them cut down. Of course this would cost a decent amount of money.

well first of all leaf springs arent the best for flexing, although you can make them decent. You might want to break them in a little more before they will flex, if they are new then they are probably still really stiff
