    Is It Worth It?

Huh? I posted a reply, but it's gone. I will try it again..:purple: The Peugeot transmission can be a problem. They are expensive to rebuild. There isn't really a direct bolt in replacement, you need to change other things like the bellhousing and clutch arrangement, transfer case input, and...

    Anothey Mysterious Ticking Question

The sound a CV joint makes is described as "angry sparrows" under the Jeep when the one in the front driveshaft starts going bad.

    GPS Maps

I use one of those county map books. They usually have all the smaller roads on them, at least here in Michigan.

Haha, I had a 1986 Renegade new in 1986, it never got close to that! Maybe they meant KPG... :purple:

Axles & Gears for 97 TJ????

With 35s I would go 4.56 gears if it's driven on the street a lot, or lower yet if it's mostly a trail rig. For axles, you should probably at least upgrade the rear to a Dana 44 or Ford 8.8 if it's a medium wheeler, or bigger at both ends if you really like to beat on it.

    More Air, Please

On the YJs I thought there was some kind of baffle in the air intake hole of the air box. Just knock it out and get twice as much air into the box.

    My wet (inside) Jeep...

Haha, it takes a special person to drive a Jeep. Good luck figuring out where the water is getting in. If it was dry with the hard top and wet with the soft top, I would guess it is getting in around the top somewhere, check the doors. Mine has no carpet, and the interior is lined with spray in...

    Did i get lucky?

Yes, you got lucky. It may be hard to identify if it's bent or if the shaft is bent. It makes it worth less because you don't really know anything about it. Used they go for anywhere from dirt cheap to a couple hundred bucks. It depends what it fits and what's inside of it. Now if it has factory...

    stupid leaf spring question

Wow, getting some mixed advice I see... The springs will only go on one way, if i remember correctly the larger eye goes to the front, and the smaller one fits in the shackle. I don't think the larger eye will fit in the shackle. The sleeve sounds like something that would be used if...

    XJ Axle Swap

It's a good swap if you have a Dana 35. Not really worth the investment if you have a corporate 8.25. Of course if you find one with 4.11s and discs it would be a pretty nice swap. It will probably cost more than regearing your Corporate axle, but you will have disc brakes. Another good swap...

    4Litre engine trouble???

I didn't know if they had them over the pond... If it does, wack it with the bottom of your fist like you were banging on the bar and see if it rattles (best to attempt when cold). They rattle pretty good when they start going bad.

    '96 XJ tire question

Take a hunk of chalk and mark a line across the tire tread. drive the Jeep down the driveway and see where the chalk line wears. If it wears more in the center let some air out, if it wears more at the outside edges put more air in. At least if you want them to wear evenly.

    2003 Wrangler starting problem

clutch safety switch. Where is the clicking? Is it a relay or solenoid? I don't remember if thr YJ has it under the dash or in the power supply box under the hood.

    ok, you fabricators question

I put seats out of a Liberty in my YJ. You need to cut one rivet off to remove the Libery floor bracket, then drill one hole to mount it to the existing floor bracket. The CJ may be similar, or you may be able to fab up something to use the Libby floor mount. I don't remember the differences in...
