I thought I posted once to help you? There is a technical service bulletin on the Wrangler gauge cluster going out. They put a jumper wire in past the connector for the gauge cluster. Mine used to randomly go out until it was repaired, mine is a 99.

Sounds like the connector for the instrument cluster. There may be a TSB on it, there was for my 99. The dealer repaired it. Oh, YJ= 87 through 95 Wrangler, square headlights, leaf springs TJ= 97 through 06 Wrangler, round headlights, coil springs, airbags

I think the trouble is with 97 and newer.

yah, the mirrors brackets are made of pot metal, and paint just doesn't hold up well. At least the factory stuff. I painted mine with automotive paint 4 yrs ago, and they still look good.

Probably the easiest way to get more travel is to move the whole bracket back. It's kind of hard to explain, so bear with me..:lol: The three cables all come together in a rectangular bracket that is bolted to the frame (unibody), you can unbolt that bracket and move it back. I moved mine...

Bingo, don't rip your dash all apart. There is a connection down to the right of the front passengers foot. Like two or three screws to remove for easy access. Mine had a spring inside of it that would push the two halfs apart, I removed the spring and all is good!

and there is a vacuum resovoir bottle behind the front bumper on the passenger side, it may be cracked.

Don't forget that your compressor runs when you have the defrosters turned on. It doesn't hurt newer vehicles to turn the vehicle off or start it with the air on. If a mechanic told you that, he is an old timer.

I used a paint that is called Chassis Saver. It moisture hardens like POR. It did not require the multiple steps like POR. It worked great for me, wire brushed the bad rust, wiped down with paint thinner, and painted it on. I got it at Tractor Supply.

Does one wheel lock up or a couple of them? It could be the master cylinder. Is the vacuum line connected to the power booster? Make sure it's not leaking and that it had vacuum.

Well, if your taking the carpet out anyway, why don't you just take it out? I don't run carpet in my YJ.

Yes, it will fit. I cut those rubber spacer things in half (the ones on the tub) to get the tire in closer to the body and a little more thread on the bolts. Just take them off, cut them in half with a hacksaw, and put them back on.

When I did the interior of my TJ I checked around with the different types of spray in liners. I found that Rhino is a two part that mixes at the spray gun nozzle, when it hits it hardens almost instantly. Meaning sags, drips, etc need to be cut off. This can be a problem with all the angles on...

I thought the block was the same on the AMC 258s, won't the mounts off the older motor fit the new motor?

Yes, they both have 5x4.5 bolt pattern.
