Installed new solenoid and ..... hmmm

Really it sounds like the solenoid has a tight spot in it. If so it will get better with use. They slap those together so fast now, also most of them don't know what they are even doing. I had a IH scout that had the solenoid on the starter. When the flywheel gear wore out, it would hold the...

    The OFFICIAL Random thread

We should get a government grant to study those frogs! It would be better than some other studies they pay to do.

    81 CJ Duraspark wiring

I agree with the others. I would get rid of the module. You can replace the regulator inside he alternator for about $10.00, if it doesn't charge well. You have a lot of corrosion everywhere. I bet it will have the hiccups for a while.. Good luck, that's a great project.

    Brake lines..

I agree with flaring is best for pressure. After doing it a few times it gets easy. Main trick is to get the right amount out to flair, and watch the tool tip is centered going in. Stainless can be a little hard, but it is all in the wrist. ha Also the bending tool is great to have.

    Just seein what's up!

Hi Lindseyo, I was born in Tampa, also lived in Sarasota for a while. I also like TJ, or a Cherokee. I personally would not put big tires on one. The large treads make a lot of noise, that is annoying to me, when going any distance on smooth roads.

What did you do to your Jeep today?

Well I decided I would inspect the rockers. Here is a picture of what I found. Glad I have a good pressure washer. I pulled the oil pan, and laid too it. I feel like I have been run over, but I sure looks better. Got it back together, and it still runs, and no oil leaks.

One million points to whoever can tell me whats wrong

My '95 Wrangler book, does show the 4 cyl motor with a timing chain. That is what I have been fighting on my 78, with close to your issues. It is easy to check. Pop off the distributor cap. Put it in park. Slowly turn your crank one way, then the other, while watching the rotors motion. If the...

We to know what engine you have, before I can collect. If yours has a timing chain in it, I win.

What did you do to your Jeep today?

Got all my parts cleaned, and ready to put back. Boiled my radiator with some sodium hydroxide, looks much better. Cleaned the corners of the radiator, and mounting brackets, "the radiator was hanging by the hoses". Got it ready to silver solder back together. Now if the parts will just arrive.....

Does this look weird to you??

Ah thanks. I had to look a few times to spot it. Always expect to see them inside the spring. I've not been around many mountain climbers. When I was a young lad, I drove a mountain goat, my dad built from a dodge power wagon. Strictly off road, boy that was fun.
