    Carburetor to buy

I have ruined my counter, and almost burned up my sink. I mixed my hydrochloric acid way too strong. I was able to stop it in time for the stainless sink, but the counter is pretty bad. I have 4 work benches up stairs, and 3 more in the basement, and still wind up at my sink. But as you said...

What did you do to your Jeep today?

Hi Greg, I picked up mine in the college of hard knocks, as well. I know most of what I am seeing will be from the sitting two years. You would not believe the oil ports clogged up with thick oil. I am tempted to run some kerosene through it for a while. But I don't think that will even clean...

What did you do to your Jeep today?

Well there's your problem. I'm surprised I didn't hear it slapping the cover. Looks like I need to pull a link out. Just kidding, I should remove two.

What did you do to your Jeep today?

Kinda disappointed, my Jeep has belonged to two good mechanics, and the radiator is clogged from minerals in the water. I am sure they know better. I guess I'll spend the rest of my day boiling out the radiator. Ah, chemistry at work. I hope it doesn't start leaking after this.

What did you do to your Jeep today?

It's amazing how much better it looks. A little red devil lie, and a good pressure washer. I'm going to let it dry for a little, then pull the cover off. Damn, I hate grease....... That's what got me into electronics.... But once clean, I love it.....

    Anyone used the synthetic antifreeze

I am tempted to try the synthetic antifreeze, in my new engine. Has anyone tried it? I know it is rather pricey.

    Loping Motor or Bucking Bronco

That is the difference in location. I can shoot my gun from my front porch, no body would even look my way. All my neighbors do it too. I love the country life..... Have a friend that built a coke bottle mortar, it took 1/2 pound of gun powder, to shoot a bottle about 1/4 mile. He and his...

    Carburetor to buy

I can turn my crank 20+ degrees before the rotor starts to turn. This is the original engine. The motor has never been worked on. The rings are going out, and the seals are shot. I just hope to keep it alive for a few more weeks, till the new engine is finished. I figure when I get ready to...

    Fuel Issues

I have found that usually is a bad throttle position sensor. Had that happen on a 96 Cherokee.

Does this look weird to you??

I believe, I would have to find another mechanic. To me it doesn't look safe. I don't like the smashed end of pipe holding that clevis. That does look like a lug nut on it too. How much is it lifted? Just noticed, no shock is in the spring.

    Carburetor to buy

Yes, unfortunately it won't be soon enough, to me.. It is going to take three more week. He has another shop grinding my crank, then got to send it all to another shop to balance it. Then it will be quick to build and install. Finally found my loping problem. Its the timing chain. I ordered...

What did you do to your Jeep today?

The loping problem got worse. The timing chain is shot. My new engine will be ready in three weeks. SO. Pulled the radiator. Got the front of my motor stripped off. ready to pull the harmonic balancer. Got my new timing chain, and gears on the way. Ordered a new ignition switch, have to jiggle...

    Carburetor to buy

I went out for a short lap yesterday, with a friend on his bike. When we parted, he hollered, light them up. It smoked till I let off of it. But I do have a set of oem size tires, so its easy to burn them. I suspect when the new motor is complete, it will be plumb scary. Can't wait...

What did you do to your Jeep today?

Took out my heater box, and silver soldered the hole, I drilled in the heat line. Damn stereo. Oh well, it needed cleaning anyway. Now I will go down I the morning, and try to find the ratchet that fell behind the motor. Don't you hate hearing a tool fall, but it never hits the ground....

    Sealing up distributor...do I need a vent?

Wow, I've never had that problem. I pack it around all my lamps, plugs, and cap. I did silicone my cap once. When I took it off, I cracked the cap from prying so hard. With all the heat, silicone gets very strong. Might as well epoxy it. Heck, long time ago, I made a gasket from a sheet of...

    Sealing up distributor...do I need a vent?

I like it, the only thing I would do different, is to use dielectric grease to seal it. Silicone after a few years of heat, gets very hard to get your distributor off. The dielectric grease is just for that. Put it around any plug, or lamp when replacing stuff. I have used silicone before.
