hi m8 I have had the same thing ? did you check the leading edge on each shoe ? they should have a leading edge if not get a file and file the leading edge on each one that should stop it. some times its not done. regards Richard

hi all just to give you update on my shudder Cherokee jeep 2.4 when reversing ? it has turned out to be the belt tensioner jumping about the belt was doing the same which made the shudder. so replaced tensioner & belt at the cost of £90. job done. many thanks all here in UK best regards Richard

hi m8 many thank`s part`s have been ordered. more info they have now done a mod on the 2.4 sport they have taken the idle wheel off and put a smaller belt on. many thanks tricky

hi m8 I was reading a report about the same thing and what the guy done was to change his front springs, after changing ball joint`s and damper arm twise which helped for a while he up graded his spring`s now all ok ? regards Tricky

hi m8 have you had the starter motor off ? the sound could be the bend ex spring stuck ? which when you turn the key to start the motor it turns over but does not engage the flywheel,it just hits the teeth of the fly wheel which gives you that sound normally a good clean and replace it at worst...
