    Xj ******* pack

Most lifts generally do not affect brakes. However bigger tires are more heavier and have a larger rolling resistance and take more energy to stop. Upgrading to steel brake lines, newer, or bigger calipers, and vented discs help a lot with braking, better pads... IE.. semi-Ceramic, EBC, or...

Size of tire I can fit

BTW, I forgot to mention. My 95 XJ was lifted with stock LCA and standard offset wheels. With aftermarket LCAs or Wheels pushed out a bit It never would've rubbed.

    Xj ******* pack

How much of a lift you have is pretty subjective. Depends on how long they are on the Jeep, how many leafs are on it, if they have a overload pack in them, if they were overloadeded, ect... I have double stacked 2 complete sets of XJ leafs, stock in good condition and minus the 2 of the main...

    Xj ******* pack

Not Durango springs. Dakota are leaf over. Durango are leaf under S-type springs and can be prone to sagging when on top. Double stack XJ springs, Comanche or Dakota, 1/2 ton Ram Van (I've heard must be Dodge "B" van), S10, S15, Small Jimmy and blazer. Most should be do-able. I believe XJ...

    Sagging rear end solutions?

If your rear is saggin waggin the front maybe too? Get yourself a Rubicon Express or ?? 2" Budget boost kit. Comes with 4 shocks, AAL, amd needed hardware. I had an old XJ a while back. It was saggin so bad, when all said and done it only sat +1" over other stock XJ.

    Unidentified part

Bounty hunter is correct. Passenger side shiny box size of small CB attached to lower dash cover... That is a TCM (Transmission control module). Unplug and drive in reg "D" it will be hella slugish cause Jeep is only driving in 3-4th gear. Unplugged you'll still be able to drive it like a...

1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport Shuts off While Idle/Driving

Map, O-2, IAC, and TPS generally cause poor idle, not no-start. Neutral safety?? Do your back up lights work? What is pressure and volume output of fuel pump? When you have no start - Do you have no fuel nor spark? How's the alternator volts output with all elect acc on? Crank, Cam...

    Starter wont disengage

Check the following wiring in the Ignition switch harness, at the starter & ASD relay - PDC, and battery wiring harness (Green switch wire in battery harness to starter or freyed battery cables?), a sticky ignition lock cylinder, also check the teeth on the flywheel?

    255/70r16

255/70r16 should be approx 30x10" tire. I don't see why not. What model Jeep? Jeep OE was up to: 30x10.5" on XJ, MJ. I had a stock ZJ 5.9L with 245/75r16. WJ fits 30-31"s. KJ ran 30-31" stock.

Waste of a Jeep, but fun to watch.

I wasn't sure if the laugh was on purpose or if he was trying so sound like an idiot laughing... A couple times sounded like woody woodpecker. Unfortunatly these idiots prolly could have several illegit kids with 1/2 their genes. :x What a waste of perfectly good Jeeps. Looks like they...

    Is All Wheel drive better?

Look for one with a High pinion front Dana 30. Chrysler snuck some low pinion front dana 30s in XJs 99-01. Otherwise Nice rig. Hope you find the Jeep you want.

Hub bearing Q what's the difference?

On XJ, ZJ 91-98 in my experience the more expensive options had to do with ABS tone rings; or composite / one piece design brake rotors. Also the OEM "Jeep" hubs after 1995 came from either mexico or canada 1/2 the time anyway, Prolly US made steel and bearings assm elswhere for labor cost?!:x...

    What a pain!!!!

97-01 XJ and 93-98 ZJ have common problem over time. Alot of dirt and grime collect in there. Either handle/spring mech busted ( seviced with new handle) or Latch on tailgate needs replacing.

    XJ License plate bracket install

Local parts store should have some square plastic nutserts for license plates in the "Help" section. The nuts come in different sizes, just gotta match em up... or use a magnet grabber tool to drop/hold small bolt in from side/top of bottom bumper and put nut on bottom.

Size of tire I can fit

5.5" lift on 33" should do fine. I had a 95XJ with 4.5" lift on 33"s and cut fenders. rubbed on Left LCA at full lock, otherwise all was good.

    Wiring problem, Inop heater blower

I have had several older XJs that had Elect gremlins. The main fuse block wiring and main headlight wiring junctions have a tendency to get real coroded with the OE electrical grease. I have taken 2 of those junctions apart, cleaned all the terminals with a small detail brush, a file, and some...

4in. rough country lift and 33's

Correct wheel spacing 4"-4.5" BS, a skinny tire 285/75r16 (approx 33x11.25"), and some small fender trimming on lower back of front fenders should be good. You may have minor rubbing on left lower LCA or at full compression.

What kind of dog for a Jeep dog?

Re: 1044731 Can you get the cat to hiss on comand? Have the cat sit shotgun and the dog in the back... NOW THAT JUST AIN'T RIGHT! I am a dog person myself. Married into a dog family. My father in law when driving and sees a cat says "good kitty, dead kitty." He doesn't mean it though...

    2.5L performance?

I believe Chrysler 2.0/2.4L DOHC are higher reving motors. In 2003 Jeep TJ Wrangler replaced the 2.5L with a 2.4L DOHC motor. I have seen several sweet +2003 TJ 2.4L with swapped out Turbo SRT4 2.4L turbo motors. My bros Heavily modded SRT4 is pushing 310-355HP/325-365TQ at 3200/4800 RPM...

YOU KNOW YOU HAVE A REAL JEEP IF...

LOL. It is pretty common. I always heard and thought is to be only possible in Jeep CJ / YJ wrangler bodies. So when my wrangler ate the belt loops I though nothing of it. Jacket pockets tho. :x But when some Jeep XJ old and new I've had ate my belt loops, at first I was flustered. Now I just...
