    spark plugs

That is odd. 2nd on checking the 1st 3 plugs with ones that no go. Also check old plugs to see if cross threaded?? Sounds like head maybe cross threaded. Spark plug chasers are pretty cheap, then put anti-sieze on new plugs. As for plug brand. Champion coppers are good. 03+ Jeep use NGK. The...

    parking light headache

My 97 was driving me crazy too. Left lo beam, right turn signal (marker only) weren't working. Ran the test light, voltmeter thing... all tested good. Replaced with good spares listl; headlamps, bulbs, headlight switch, turn-hazard switches, fuses, even hardwired thinking sockets were bad...

    Sealer on transmission pan gasket?

1987-2001 XJ 4.0L AW4 auto trans pan is RTV from factory. Some are a PITA, the long dipstick tube is welded to pan on some AW4s. If rubber gasket goin on now; no sealant needed except maybe to hold gasket in place white putting pan on. I believe most AW4 filters are actually metal debre screens...

    2.5L performance?

The Iron duke was a 2.5 cross flow head designed GM motor. Intake and exhaust manifold are on opposite sides of head. Last Jeep to use is was a 1986 Jeep CJ 2.5L. Jeep Comanche, Cherokee, and Wrangler all used the AMC designed motor, 2 completely different motors. AMC / Jeep 2.5L and 4.0L...

    2.5L performance?

The 2.5L is a good little motor. It is based off the 4.0L with the same bore and stroke. Just 2 less cylinders. Only time I missed having a 4.0L in my wrangler was on the freeway. I'd take a 2.5L over a carb'd 4.2L any day. Both the 2.5L and 4.0L are good motors either way.
