    JK with battery drain...

JK's are Unique beasts. Technically you shouldn't wire anything into them without using an "approved" accessory wiring "whatchamacallit". Chrysler started using solid state switching with the ignition switches in them ( that's as bright as the keyless key and pushbutton start switch). Some...

    Oil I'm breather box

I'm intimately familiar with the 2.4. I have to ask you how the cat became blocked up? The engine is one of the cleanest running higher output 4 cylinders Chrysler ever put out, which is why it was/is used in so many different vehicles and configurations. Are you burning oil? Is there...

I have no doubt everyone here follows what you mean, I did, I only brought it up to remind everyone to teach the wives and kids the right terms to save headaches, all too often they speak languages from other galaxies.

Is it possible to snorkle transmission?

Re: 1041882 you need to let us know which transmission you have. you could be getting water in the shifter access point for all we know, in which case butting an extended breather hose on it wont help.

Jeep cj 7 258 back firIng

you have two different issues going, the first is a linkage issue, which is holding you in the 1500 rpm range, check the choke linkage/high idle cam for alignment and sticking. Next it sounds like you are running it too rich for the throttle position which is why you would be backfiring with...

don't go any further.... first make sure your ignition is 100% it is very easy to starve or over feed fuel by trying to adjust the weber, So the first thing you need to do is make sure your ignition is as close to 100% as possible to ensure a full fuel burn, also make sure your static ignition...

weber carb or motorcraft 2100 on 258

over all the weber is the better JEEP carb. it isn't angle sensitive. it will work almost up to a 90 degree vertical angle where traditional carbs fail. Ive run them in single and dual configurations on the 258 over the years, you cant go wrong with them.

New weber carb in a 258 issue

An explanation is required here. It isn't simply a vehicle with a carb, it is also any vehicle with a vacuum advance distributor. Anything that changes the vacuum on the lines to your carb and the distributor NEEDS to be measured and adjusted for the highest vacuum, and then the timing needs to...

He is also ignorant of the fact that an auto has torque multiplication due to the torque converter, and the TH400 had several first gear outputs not just the automobile gearing his limited knowledge covers, and you cant brake/throttle a manual to drive up first gear torque.

    Chev 350.. possible transmissions

Dwillis I don't know how long you have been around but go grab a slide rule, learn how to use it to figure ratios, then sit down and actually look at the final ratios available the low range of a transfer case and the first gear range of any given TH400, and then learn that the TH400 had...

What is the best Wrangler model to buy used?

I'll try not to joke around and tell you to buy a renegade if you really drive a prius... because well... prius... Mileage on any 4x4 is relative. If its high mileage and hasn't been beaten up by not having been off road the price will be higher than one that has been used off road. When its in...

    Whistleing jeep

Its "hainted" just like our 98 GC limited that about once every three months likes to flash all the dash head and tail lights on and off at night, not all at once mind you, but in a nonrepeating pattern between the inside and outside lights. So far everything involved with it except all the...

    Dash Lights

most definitely missing one or more grounds to the dash circuitry. When he turns the switch all the way to the right and puts full voltage on the dash lights they are no longer at the "lower potential" and cant act like a ground for the volt meter. I'd start looking on the right side of the...

    95 Grand Cherokee....stalling

First off, if you haven't already Replace the distributer cap and rotor with quality replacement parts, these two parts will confound you to no end if they are marginal when troubleshooting the cam and crankshaft position sensors. SuperJ is absolutely correct on the PCM issues, However...
