    CJ7 Brake light issues

Hey for what my two cents are worth....... Check your ground for certain. Just because you have a ground wire screwed into the tub does not mean that is actually grounded (or ground well anyway). I'm going through this very problem on my project. Years of paint, corrosion (or treatment of) and...

    Tire carrier fitment

I don't believe it will fit out right? Although the Wrangler and CJ7 tubs are similar, the internal supports would be in different locations. Although anything is possible with enough Fabing. Also consider that a CJ's tailgate opens downward and the Wrangler is from left to right. The track...

    4.0 cam question

I don't really know for certain, but I tend to doubt it would work. The pulley snout is about 2" longer on a 4.0, I think the 258 crank would be to short.

    Soft top "bows".....

First, are you looking for the OEM style or aftermarket? Does the tub have button snaps on the outside for an OEM top? Or do you a rail/track on top of the rear of the tub sides? Or if your have neither, the Jeep was never set up for a soft top. Not all bows are equal......... Different...

    CenTech wiring Harness?

Hello All, So my 86 Laredo frame off resto/mod is moving along, but veeeeeery slowly. Engines rebuilt, body works done, frame mounts repaired/replaced and most of the parts/compents have been removed, neatly packed and spread across most of the county ! Anyway, the wiring harness is not...

    Brake wiring help

So, if I understand what your looking for, you are connecting the Painless harness to your exisiting tail light assmeblies? I'm guessing that the problem is that you are looking at the tail light assm. and it has a three pin connector that you need to tie-in to? Without the orginal harness...

    2006 Jeep Rear End Problem

Well, as someone who does rebuild axles, it's not uncommon to want and keep the old parts for myself. However, this gives you room to bargin. Not sure want the labor rates are in your neck of the woods, so I can't comment on the over all price. I would try to bargin the price down a little...

    what goes in this

Hey also, you may want to put a small beed of RTV around the manifold heater when you re-intall it. They had a paper gasket in addition to the o-ring seal.

    what goes in this

Jim, The other guys are right, that is the ERG valve tie-in. I can tell you that it should be a NPT or plumbing thread, not sure about the size. I have a couple of the stock manifolds at home and will check later today.

    need help badly

I'd be inclined to agree with 69jeepcj, when you say that you brought #1 up to TDC, are you looking at the timing degree wheel on the damper or are you solely going off of the distributor?

81 CJU7 Fuel injection install underway

As for the relay part #, you can go to any auto parts store or order it from Amazon. You want a SPDT 12VDC 30/40 relay or at least 15amps. I just looked on Amazon and found more than 5 under $5. If you don't have the temp. probe that is in the manifold closet to the firewall, you'll need it...

    78 CJ7 Starter replacement

Honestly, unless you have a highly modified engine (i.e. high compression) or you'll be using your jeep way off the beat'in path (places where help is not around), I would just go to my local parts store and buy a reconditioned OEM starter for under $50 (with a warrenty to boot!). It's not hard...

81 CJU7 Fuel injection install underway

Are you asking what the part #'s are for the heater hoses? I normally just use bulk heater hose from the parts store and cut to fit......... As for the intake fuel heater, I'll need to look that up (unless someone knows off the top of thier heads?) Regardless, you will not need the intake heater...

    2006 Jeep Rear End Problem

Bearing failure in a differential can occur for as many reason as the day is long. Mositure, debris (both from water crossings), lack of gear oil (leak), extreme heat or cold (not likely), defect in material, slight misalignment during build up and list goes on. If you can find a desent used...

    2006 Jeep Rear End Problem

So in the photo you posted, did you remove the locknut/retainer from the yoke and pull the yoke off a bit to take the photo or is that how much play you had by just moving the driveshaft out of the way? Regardless, your going to need to remove the diff cover and take a look inside. If my...

    2006 Jeep Rear End Problem

The possible causes are numrious from what you are discribing....... When you have "play" in the drive shaft, is the pinion moving in and out? If so, you have likely burned up the pinion bearing and race. Especially if the lock nut and yoke are still tight. While, the pinion oil seal...
