im looking for a decent ba10 5 speed transmission. mine took a dump on me today. i live in lebanon oregon, if anyone can help me out it would be great. trying to save money. they cut my hours way back at work. going to the junkyard to look for one monday any help would be great

yes it does look like that.. a friend of minbe was saying a ax15 will bolt right in. is this true? i know it is alot better of a transmission then a ba10.

ugh i was hopeing it would be an easy fix so i could still go snow wheeling with my club tomorrow. are you sure its a ba10 transmission? where would it say on the transmission?

i tried that already. it looked like it was fine. but i have never taken the shifter out before so i dont know what it is supposed to look like in there

no it feels pretty normal. it just wont shift. the shifter moves around like it should but ity wont allow the transmission to come shift

so last nite i moved my jeep everything was fine went out this morning to get ready to go wheeling tomorrow and its stuck in first gear.. i cant figure out whats wrong. i bealive its a b10 5 speed.. my jeep is an 1989 xj with a 5 speed and a 4 liter and it has a np231 tcase

i have a yukon spool in my rear axle. it does have some quirks. if you drive on snow or ice very often i wouldnt lock the rear up make it really squirly and almost undrivadle. you will notice that you wear your tires out faster with a rear locker. now with the good. got place in 2wd alot of...

i just put one in my friends front dana 30 and so far he has had no prodlems. he loves it. they are really easy to put in. im thinking about get one for the front on my xj.

also check for worn or missing suspension bushings. and make sure all the steering parts tierods ends ect. are tight and in good shape.

yea im pricing what it would cost to set up a waggy 44 ( gears locker alloy shafts and 4 link brackets) vs buying a premade one with better alloy shafts all there in one package. i was thinking about buying a high pinoin 44 if i go with a aftermarket one. i dont like the idea of a low pinion much.

ok i will look into that. sway bar mounts are no longer on the axle. i decided i didnt need a sway bar. and my discos got mangled when my ex took the jeep out and didnt unhook them. so that made my choice easier to just lose the sway bar.

i have found alot of bolt in dana 44s for the jeep tj. can i buy a tj axle and bolt it under the front on my xj? i have look at a friends tj and it all looks the same. but i would like to know before i consider laying down a few grand for a build axle.
