    87 Cherokee won't up shift

Don't know this particular engine/transmission setup, but does this automatic have a vacumn actuated modulator? If it does, the pressure washing could have blown a rubber line off of the modulator. A lot of older transmissions will not upshift if that vacumn line is not "talking" to the...

New Here 1st jeep need paint ideas

Welcome to the "Zs", 67. Nice project you have going. I highly endorse the high horsepower/weight/size aspect ratio that you will acheive with that donor engine next year, but I smell BIG, BIG trouble with that combo unless you have taken the proper precautions. Gotta sign off for the day...

    I have NO brakes

I would replace the master cylinder from your given info - sounds like the master is "leaking internally" (fluid is doubling back alongside the piston into the reservoir) A quick check to help that is a good indicator - take the master cover off, start engine and press on the brake pedal...

    Engine Noise

I mentioned that the bolts should be replaced because they are probably fatigued from the many years of stress (being torqued) and heat. Many-A-gearhead thinks that it is lock washers or lock nuts that keep everything tight. To an extent, that is right, but bolt stretch when torqued is the...

    Coil and Ballast Resistor

You should either use it with the painless kit as recommended or use your old resistance wire from the stock wiring loom and splice it into the painless ignition wire for the coil + side and not use the ballast resistor. I would do the later because I don't like the looks of that resistor (too...

    Engine Noise

Did I do something wrong? remove the inspection cover and then you can check them - you can tighten them if loose and probably be OK, but I would put new ones in ASAP LBR

    Engine Noise

Re: RE: A not so satisfied user I would check the 3 bolts holding the torque converter to the flex plate for tightness - when they loosen up it makes a rattling, knocking sound and gets worst as they loosen more. If the are loose, don't retighten them....replace with NEW ones. LBR

RE: Re: RE: Mud Terry - you need to seriously relish this type of person that God implanted here on earth. There's probably about 3% of them and they are here so the other 97% of us GOOD people can appreciate ourselves. I consider them a yardstick that can NEVER measure up to standards. LBR
