Give me a couple of weeks and it should have windows and paint. I need a vacation anyway. 14 yrs. and I've had 3 weeks off during that time, so it won't hurt any.....as long it don't drag out too long. We've got work, it just a matter of waiting for the the contracts to be released. It's...

Finishing what I started (55 Willys truck)

Ok, I'm "laid-off" right the moment, so work on the truck seems right. I traded some "labor" with a guy. I wired his new paint booth, and he's gonna finish/paint the body for me. Seeing that I have time one my side now, I'm gonna finish the electrical on the truck, then send it off to him to...

    Carpet

Take the carpet out. Take the doors/windows/flap off. Pull floor plugs. Put trash bags over driver seat. Wait for rain. Jeep floor clean. No carpet to hold moisture. <insert smiley face> I've ran without anything on the floor for a couple of years now. In the spring, I take the doors...

    what is this???

You should be able to take the ground eyelet to any good clean surface on the block. No special place is needed....just on the block, and under a bolt.

No, it's not a Jeep but close

I think he has a hydraluic set-up off a Lull or forklift or something. Everything seems to be manually operated. Looks like 4 separate control handles for for differnt tires. Pretty slick set-up. I wonder how it handles on the highway?

this may sound like a dumb question

Yeah....I doubt there was any damage done. I've engage mine with a clunck and a hard pull several times, then borderline abused it and it's always been ok. I'd say no worries.

How's come my Heap never has half naked gals on it. Only thing it ever gets on it is mud and rust. These guys are wheelin' at a better place than me for sure. Is this the kind of benifits the 4.0 guys have? I knew no chick would dig a 4-banger, at least not naked...

lift kit and drive shaft alignment

Locking diffs. are better for sure. Limited slip means exactly that. One side is allowed to slip , before the other side grabs hold. With a locker, both wheels are locked together with the driveshaft. No slip, no give on either side. That's the way to go. There are many types, brands, and...

Ok...I see the difference. Your boy in Scouts?......and are you a pack leader? I would like to get my boy involved (5), and think it would be awesome to teach young ones the "finer things in life". All the good things like camping, trapping, firemaking, ect. All the things a good boy likes...

    Death Wobble or Wheels unbalanced?

I wonder if the new shoes are accentuating a bad ball joint. Old tires tend to wear into "bad habits" from what I've experienced. Just a thought....I may be totally off track though.....
