I'd say the easiest way would be to find a newer wrecked corvette with the motor and transmission in good shape. Drop that in and you should be good to go.

By looking at that picture above, the top LED is probably cut into the top of the fender on the inside of the jeep. He either screwed up or planned it that way and had a fix for the inside of the jeep.
