    Jeep Themed ROom

I was thinking of something like a bar table made with a old Alum. rim for a base and then maybe the top made from a grill. Or Alum deck plate with the JEEP logo cut into it.

Looking for hard top and doors. 84cj

It uses a different style of strike plate. I am sure I have both of them. I don't think you would have any trouble mounting them to your tub. I can try to get pictures of all the different parts this weekend. This is In Eastern Iowa.

Looking for hard top and doors. 84cj

The top is about 15 miles from my house. If you aren't in too big of hurry I could get some pictures on Saturday. The top is a 76 model and the door latch handles are kind of like a T handle instead of the later Paddle handles. And instead of latching on a peg they use a sort of door jam. I took...

Looking for hard top and doors. 84cj

I have a hard top for my 76 CJ-7 that I could sell or trade if you are interested. The doors are in very good condition. The door latches are different between the 76 and the 84. Does need a new read lift gate frame. The old one is rusted.

    Above axle steering

I have the knuckles from a chevy with the extra pad for the 3 bolts. I have seen the bolts break on at least one and have heard of another that broke after about 5 years. Just wondering if there have been more that have failed. I really like the arms from Harsh Terrain that move the tie rod...

    Above axle steering

I have a spring over axle set up on my CJ-7. It works very well for the trails I use it on. I am wanting to move the steering arms to the top of the knuckles to get the tie rods up out of the way of rocks and other obstacles. My one concern is how safe are these set ups? This puts more stress...

    Jeep died today :(

If you had some transmission work done there is a possibility that the flex plate is broke between the motor and transmission. Or the bolts could have come out also. This is just a long range guess. I haven't tried to convert the C degrees to F degrees to tell how hot the motor was.

76 body tub on 75 frame

I guess I misread the post. I saw CJ-7. Yes the tub should "fit" but you will need to adapt. Didn't Jeep widen the axle in 76 also? I know they added 4 in to the front fenders in 76 to make room for the new power train.

76 body tub on 75 frame

A CJ-7 body tub will not fit on a CJ-5 frame. The wheelbase is longer on a CJ-7. I am sure you could find a trade somewhere to go one way or the other. A new Heavy CJ-7 frame might run $1600 but I think that would be the way to go.

    Swapping a 4cyl into a CJ-7

You have the ideal set up for a JEEP right now. If you just changed the rear gear ration it would probably help the most. I would look at something in the 3:55-3:73 range. I am running 3:73 with my 35 in. tires and I don't think the mileage is too bad. Figure about 12 -16 MPG.
