97 Cherokee, 4.0 125,000 miles At Idle it has a what sounds like a low end knock, not load but it is there. After idle it is gone, also after it gets warm it is less. Some have told me this is a normal noise for the 4.0 What is your thought's ?

Its Cured :-) I tried to grab the codes like Bounty__Hunter said. However I got nothing, just a blank counter. Then I thought, hey unhook the Battery for a minute and rehook. This has worked in the past on a different Vehicle. Light is out :D

Looking to get my first Wrangler and it will be a daily driver. I definatly want a 6 cyl. My Price range is $4,000 and I live in California. Would prefer the 4.0 in a 92 or newer, but any reason not to look at say an 86-90 with the 4.2 How about 5sp VS. Auto ?
