401 AMC ENGINE.. its in Las Vegas, was going to build and decided on a 4.0L FI.. the 401 is apart, block boiled and checked, crank, rods, pistons, cam, pan, heads, pistons, pump, and so forth.. $1000
well, took the valve cover in a nice shipping box to UPS.. they want $28.00 to ship the cheapest way, FedEx wants $24.00.... I wasn't sure if you wanted this cover that bad.. let me know, I can ship tomorrow if you want.. thanks.. Wayne
pay the shipping and I'll send it to you.. I'll need name address etc.. I'll write on the box how much it was for shipping.. gets it out of my shop.. ha... Wayne (I'll be back in a week, so it will be next week if ok)..
I need a steering column and steering wheel for a 1946 Willys CJ2A.. the one presently in the Willys is a later model, fat, short and you can't get your legs under the wheel, press on the gas, shift... so its impossible to drive unless your a midget.. if you have or know someone with these, pm...
I use a pulse charger.. it cleans the posts, cells, and charges with regulation... tests the battery first, then starts pulsing a charge into the cells.. best charger I ever bought..
I drove my CJ5 back and forth to work and everywhere in between.. went to Las Vegas from San Francisco many times.. then moved to Denver and drove back and forth to SF from there.. it was a 304 .. proper maintenance and they will run great.. my '78 had a 401 and also ran great, everywhere...
The other question I would have if you actually overheated would be if the water pump was pumping in the correct direction.?
I've seen this one, and its not hard to accidentally do.. MINE was running backwards because the PO had run the serpentine belt wrong..
What kind of shackles are you using? anything over stock length? my wobble was 90% shackle driven.. too long, too weak of a spacer, ... while the jeep is just sitting, NOT running, get under the front and have someone turn your steering wheel from left to right and back.. watch your shackles...
