    94 4cyl to 4.0 swap??

I have had lots of chevy and ford V8's and chevy V6's push into 250000 miles and never cost me a dime. I have litteraly seen the V8's and V6's run out of water and run them hot an drun them out of oil when a pan gets punctured! I grew up on farms and construction sites! don't knock these engines...

    94 4cyl to 4.0 swap??

I am a believer in V6's. I have V8'd many jeeps and I am sorry for doing it. I also have owned V8 factory CJ5's. In todays world! Fuel mialage and performance! a V6 does the job very nicely. weather its a old CJ or a newer YJ the V6 fits nice with room to spare. the swap is about the same as...

    hei dizzy

A lot of guys talk about the excess were. But after talking with guys that claim this, I have found them not using a gasket on the dist. I always double up my gaskets and I never encountered were. You can always out the gear from your old dist onto the new one!

    putting a 4.3 in a cj7

The Iron Duke 4 cyl in the Cj's use a 90 deg bellhousing the same as the 4.3. The later 4 cyl engines in XJ and YJ are a 60 deg bellhousing and it matches up to the 2.8/3.4 V6's. Yes it will bolt up as long as it is a Iron DUke engine! Is the intake on one side and the exhaust on the other? if...

    new with a 73 cj5 V8

Those are extremely rare! The stock trany will have the "texas" bolt pattern but is there a adapter between the trany and transfer? The D300 texas will not have any round part on its input and the casting will be cast directly into the Texas patern! I have only ever found a couple of these! If...

Ford guy with a Jeep needs some guidance.

Depends on your future build! The D44's will be 3:54 or higher geared probably! Re-gearing will cost to much.. The disc front end is worth 50 bucks for the outer Disc brake stuff.. If its a 4 speed. You can get 100.00 for the trany! you have to change the input shaft! If its a D20 t-case its...

    new with a 73 cj5 V8

Well someone has done some swapping in your rig then!! I bet you then do not have the original Jeep 3 speed! is the front of the transfercase round to the transmission or does it have the "texas" bolt pattern shape.. A d300 "texas" bolt pattern transfercase was built for only two years! and...

    4.2 vs 4.0

Most people think the 4.2 became the 4.0 with electronics! Not true/// The 4.0 was built from the 2.5 engine internal specs.. the exterior bolt pattern of the 4.0 was made similar to the 4.2 but the stroke and internal parts are different.. That is how the 4.0 becomes a stroker with the 4.2...

    tj with 37's and 5.13's

You would not see much difference between 5:13's and 4:56's.. 5:13 will be better if you are running stock trany.. first gear takeoffs need lower diff gears unless you are running a low geared trany.. Thats why the T18 and I6 is handling the 37's at a 4:56.. My opinion! If you are going to pay...

    87 wrangler

I have bought from "Randys Ring and Pinion" and JT's Difs.. I see you are running 36's.. are you running the Dana 35 "C" clip rear still.. what gears do you have now!! Swapping axles WITH lower gears may be better than changing your gears!

    What to do

The 2.5 in the YJ's use the GM 60 deg bell housing.. a GM 2.8/3.4 from a rear wheel drive vehicle like a camaro or cherokee or s10 will bolt up. You don't here of this much because as stated above the trany behind the 2.5 is garbage! The 2.5 and that same trany setup was used in the Dodge...
