    Taping on bowl didnt do it. Just bought a timing light and vacume gague I will try that tomorrow.

    I have a 74 cj5 with a 232. It has new distributor, cap and rotor, plugs and wires. Carb was just rebuilt. It turns over and drives fine as long as I am going a good speed.     Thanks. That helps alot. It is on a swamp buggy so I have no other ways of identification. Im thinking its a 74 since now I am looking the fireing order goes with a 72-74.

    does anyone know how to identify an engine. on the right side of my engine in between cylinders 2 and 3 there is a tag that says 705 E 31. I'm pretty sure that he means it's a 232, but I'm trying to find out what year.

    72-74 jeep buggy problem

    It ran fine all day then for the last run it started like normal the shut off after a few seconds. Its geting fuel but no spark I think. How do I check for spark?
