The only hoses I removed/disconnected are the ones with the blue tape on them. I have hooked all back up as they were so I am at a loss.

Replaced valve cover and gasket and now engine cuts off when slowing down and when sitting at idle. I figure I have an issue with the gasket (had to replace due to old one damaged and leaking oil) when I installed; maybe need to tighten valve cover bolts more. Anything else I need to check?

1985 CJ7, press the brake all the way way down but does not hold from rolling. If rear facing downhill it will roll; if front facing downhill it holds. Any ideas or tips? Thanks!

New rear Right axle work, new front brake lines, new power steering pump. Now if the shop can figure out why the hell it won't start and can fix it I will be good to go! Haven't driven it for over a month and it is my daily driver. I miss my Yeti!!😰😜

Looking to replace the wiring in my '85 CJ7, inline 258 6cyl. Any recommendations or warnings for harnesses like Painless, etc...? Has 2 barrel carb which needs some work. Any upgrade recommendations? This is my daily driver, when it runs, so I need to get it working.

New ignition switch installed and now runs. Shop guy recommended new wiring throughout and I agree as I have been thinking about that as well. Recommendations on good harnesses to look into?

Never thought about the ignition switch and having it crap out while doing the other work just bad luck. Since there are no stores around where I live that carry specific parts like that for an '85 I had to order. Will hopefully have by Wednesday. Going to have the shop replace and work on...

Broke down and had it towed to shop. The issue is the ignition switch in the column is broken so does not keep engaged. Now have to search and order new ignition switch.

Added the fuel and still did not start. Same as before. Being at a loss continues.

I agree, go with the YJ. My first was a '91 and I loved it but due to unreported damage from accident by previous owner, I had to get rid of it. With the mileage and age, any major issues with the Jeep from that time should have already been addressed so now it should just be 'normal' upkeep...

Well, added a new ignition coil and nothing changed. Checked connections and even switched just to see and still just no change. Now I am really at a loss. Think I will change out spark plugs and wires this coming weekend as the plugs do show corrosion. If that doesn't resolve issue then off...

When checking out the carb did see fuel so I would say yes.

I had a bad connection so now that is taken care of so I have power. Now the engine turns over but doesn't start. Checked the spark plugs and they all spark. Checked connections again and battery ground and all are good.

I installed new battery cables as well and tried the old ones, no change.
