True -- the odd thing in my case is that the CD plays just fine. If I turn it up loud enough, I don't hear the clicking. It doesn't skip -- just makes a clicking, spokes sound. So far only on V2 discs (Virgin Records). Thanks for replies, by the way.

Here's a quandary. On only some discs, the player exhibits a clicking/whirring sound while the disc spins that is sometimes quite annoying. Again, this only affects certain CDs (a minority), but it does so regardless of which of the 6 trays that CD is in. Is this a problem anyone's dealt with...
