I have already pulled the fan and added an electric, installed a posi-lock, Motorcraft 3100 carb, and did a "Nutter bypass" (about 10 months ago) and just finished my ignition upgrade today, I am putting a pacetter header, high flow cat, and flowmaster on next week. Then it's on to the oil leaks...

Oops that sometimes helps 4.2L 6 cyl. I have already replaced my stock weber with a 3100 motorcraft carb and think the distributor will really help. I am about to put on a Borla header, High Flow Cat, and a flowmaster muffler as well.

I want to do a HEI upgrade for my stock distributor, any feedback, and how easy is it to do yourself, any instructions?

I have a 3100 on my 89 YJ and have had great success, easier to tune and easy to convert. Once your weber goes down the crapper I think it is a great alternative. There is a guy on ebay ehrmann or something like that, that sets them up and sells a complete conversion kit with great one to one...

I think I am going to go with a Borla header, any highflow cat, and a flowmaster muffler. Thanks for the input guys.

Great post guys, I have air on my 89 YJ and have already rerouted the belt to bypass the AC compressor. I was planning on yanking the AC system, but now you guys have given me a much better alternative!! Thanks!

I cannot find a Banks exhaust application for my Jeep, All they have is '91 and up. So I am guessing Banks is out for me. Really all I need is a good exhaust manifold, muffler and cat. I can reroute and customize the piping (Friend has a pipe bender and welder). Any other suggestions?

I have an 89YJ 6 cyl and I am going to upgrade my exhaust. I have already done quite a few mods (3100 carb, electric fan, K&N filter) I am needing advice on what works best for durability and performance. I want to go from the manifold back. I also am about to do the HEI upgrade on my distributor.

OK, I have finished the motorcraft 2100 upgrade and WOW what a difference! This baby runs like brand new and the adjustments on this carb are easy as pie. HEI and exhaust next!!

OK, i have also decided to shell out a few hundred and do the Motorcraft 2100 mod and I also will do the "Nutter Bypass" because the previous owner has removed all the vacuum system and stuff and trying to replace it all will not only cost me an arm and leg but will probably drive me insane...
