I forgot how nice it is to be a Jeeper

I sold my 91 XJ to buy my TJ, drove the TJ all of 05 and started to realize that I don't wheel that often, but I do a buttload of backpacking, with two dogs none the less. So I needed something I could sleep in the back of while on the road to different parts of the state/NW. So I sold the TJ...

Ok a few MORE quirky questions about my new XJ

That is weird!? So my assumption of it terminating inside the bumper could be true then huh? It did also correct my Cruise Control problem for those who are following this or have the same question in the future...... works like a charm now. Now its just a time test to see if my quick fix holds!!

I forgot how nice it is to be a Jeeper

I admit. I strayed for the past 6 months and rolled around Portland in a Land Rover..... and as nice as it is to drive, its no Jeep. Sure its nice to have AWD, heated leather, two freeking moonroofs,4 wheel ABS and a ton of other garbage that makes life a bit more comfortable. But how not fun...

Ok a few MORE quirky questions about my new XJ

I love this place!! So after chasing down everything that looked like a vacuum line, and after taking out the battery to chase more, I found my leak.... a completely severed line actually. Must have been busted by the person putting the battery in last time...... So, now I have this split...

Ok a few MORE quirky questions about my new XJ

So, I have a good jumpstart on the vibration issue, now I have a few quirky little fixes I need to make........ My heater/ac selector.... It blows piping hot air when I want, and ice cold air when I want, but when I change the selector to the floor, or face position, or mix position it just...

Shimmy while stopped while in Drive gear....

That may be closer to where the problem may be..... I kind of mislabled the noise in my original post, its a really deep vibration noise, if that makes sense, kind of muted. But a bad mount could be the culprit too though huh? I will have to get underneath tomorrow and check.......... damn...

How ya'll been! (its roundlights with a new spelling!)

Thanks TC, its been quite some time!! I have been through a 98 TJ & a 97 Rover Since I have been here last!!! I no longer have the email account for my old Roundlights username, and could not remember my password!

Shimmy while stopped while in Drive gear....

Where do I start to look for the cause? Transmission I would assume, or driveline? Just bought an 00 XJ 4.0, runs great, no driving problems but when stopped at a light there is a vibration coming from the undercarriage. It creates a loud-er echoing throughout the rear cargo area. When I put...

How ya'll been! (its roundlights with a new spelling!)

And I can no longer claim ROUNDLIGHT status.... as I am now tooling an 00 XJ, so its back to the squarelights! (I had a brief spell with a Land Rover between the 2, so I was ashamed to stop in and say hi!) Hope the gang still remembers me!
