    1988 with 4.2, won't fire. Replaced distributor, distributor cap, rotor, wires, plugs, and coil. I have power going to coil and coil tests normal, yet no spark at the plugs. Shouldn't there be spark between the coil and the distributor cap? There is none? I ruled out ignition control module...

    I have an 88 4.2 with the carter 2b carb. Jeep runs great. Idles perfectly and runs very strong in lower gears. When I bought it the timing was too advanced and the engine would ping. I retarded the timing and did the TFI upgrade which allowed me to then advance the timing a little still...

    Popping out of reverse

    Well, I no longer have reverse at all now. Having an AX-15 swap done. Will come with a 12 month 12k mile warranty. I will let you all know how it goes. Thanks for the replies.
