I've been having the same problem with my 95 GCL. It vibrates and shakes the car like its about to stall. I Changed the fuel filter and that didnt fix it. I changed the Idle Control Valve and that didnt fix it. I poured a bunch of injector cleaner in it and that helped a little but after that...

Well the injector cleaner didnt seem to make any difference it still idles really rough. It almost seems like at idle the trans is trying to over-ride the brake (if that makes sense) If I get some time to myself and without snow I'll pull the throttle body off and clean it really good.

Does anyone know if the seatbelt extender from a '88 Cherokee fit on a '95 Grand Cherokee?:?|

Nope the check engine light works but does not come on when the rough idle thing happens. I will try cleaning the idle control valve and throttle body assy. cant hurt to try. I dumped a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank today also.

Maybe I should be more clear on what I mean by "shudder". The idle is very rough almost like its going to stall (which it did do twice). But the rough idle is so bad it shakes the car. It happens at random times, though more often than not. If i click it to nuetral or park it idles smooth and...

I dont know about that.. It has only been my jeep for a couple of weeks and its too cold for a/c. But I will try it and get back to you. I'm pretty sure I've had the heater on everytime,,, would that matter?

Are you positive this is what it is?.,, I had someone tell me it was the sensor for the automatic headlight thing and someone else said it was the receiver for the keyless entry (which I dont have a transmitter for) So now I'm confused again.. doesnt take much does it?
