How to disconnect the brake cables from the rear body of 2001 jeep cherokee

I have a 2001 jeep cherokee and I had to change one of the axle in the rear end and also the brake cover that had the brake cable running from it to under the body of my jeep how do I unhook the cable from the body of the Jeep ????? To put the new one there if anyone could please help I be greatly appreciate! !!

Welcome to Jeepz.com David. Are you talking about the parking brake cable?

If it's the parking brake then I think you have something like this under your Jeep

A parking brake cable from each rear wheel will connect on the left side. If memory serves, you just losen the nut on the long threaded bolt enough that you can slide out the cable. That nut will likely be super rusted. If it is, then just buy a new one first, and cut the old one off with an angle grinder
