'02 TJ heat/AC blower issue

Hey Jeeperz!

I’m wondering if you might have any thoughts. My dash AC/Heat vents don’t get any air pushed through. The floor and dash works fine but if I switch it to the dash vent it still only puts out the other two.

Any ideas? (other than that I shouldn’t even have A/C in a jeep…It’s for the wife ; )

You shouldn't have a wife and a jeep at the same time either.lol, j.k.. Anyway, check the vacuum connector and switch on the back of the a/c control head. Follow these multicolored vac. lines to its connector splice for the actuators and make sure its seated properly in place.

There is a cheap plastic lever that is part of the control system. When the part breaks you are SOL. The problem is to replace the part the whole heater needs to be disassembled and if you have AC a dealer is going to charge you abut $1800 to do this. There is an article in an old JP magazine on how one of the guys had the same problem and came up with a red-neck fix. I'm not sure if you can find it the archives on their web site or not but it would be worth a try. Basically it is a one shot supper glue option.
