I agree except for covering it... every covered winch I have seen and helped the owner work on had moisture induced issues as the cover prevented them from drying all the way in the sun. Decades back I used to cover mine, and had all kinds of electrical issues, lost the cover on a trip down south and the issues miraculously vanished... we use salt on the roads for ice control, salt and water create a conductive mix, rain and melting snow wash road spray away covers keep it trapped in...

Do any of you know what happens if Bedliner is applied to cloth? I want to bed line the back of my rear seats so that when they are folded down I can still stack chopped wood or misc. Stuff in the back without ripping the cloth seats.

I get the idea from a friend's hatchback that has hard plastic on the back of its rear seats. When they fold down he has plenty of space and his seats are nice and safe.

Yep. It hardens like a rock. And it's damn near impervious... (I didn't do it in on purpose tho, I spilled half a quart on my passenger seat)

Nope. Once it's on there it isn't coming off. It would probably do what you want it to.

Myth busters did an episode demonstrating the toughness of bed liner. They used it as a coating for a dog attack jacket. I'll post back if I could find the episode. EDIT:

It's a win-win situation . A jeep is safe from wild dogs AND a jeep can get away fast ! Sold !
But seriously , my brother once used Hercules bed liner on an old landscaping truck he since sold and the application held up for years . You know landscapers are rough on their trucks so that ought to be good for any JEEPER .
