:x Can anyone tell me (or at least try to tell me) how to wire an alternator completely? We're talking 78 chevy 350 alternator three main wires on it a big red, then two small wires a brown and I think red. I need to know how to wire it from the ingnition wire to where, starter? then starter to battery?, and what to what?. also do I need to relay or fusable link?
I did a motor swap into a CJ and must not have the wiring correct? New battery, New alternator, no charge back into the battery?
Thanks any info would help...

I don't know if it's the same as on a 258 but I'll tell you how I did that. Battery to left post on solenoid, also on this post should be your ignition wire(big red wire) and a wire going to your big post on the altermator, out of other side of solenoid to starter. There should be a plug on your alternator that has two small wires on it, the red should loop back into the terminal on your alternator. The brown wire I'm not exactly sure of but I think it needs to be fed power from the ignition switch. Hope this helps.
