79 cj 7 no brakes

First, I must thank berettajeep for the front seat risers and slider. Second, does any one know if the front seats came with one slider (driver side) and one flip forward riser (NO slider on passenger side) or did both seats slide and one rose or none rose (past tense of rise, not the flower)? Some one please help.

T-case rebuild

My CJ has the passenger side flip forward and the driver's slides.

Hi-Ya prariepunk,

My 1985, CJ-7 had the OEM front seats at purchase.

Both OEM front seats tipped forward (tipper-over-rosers), but only the driver’s seat had a slider mechanism. So, the driver’s seat was a tipper-over-roser-slider, but the passenger seat was a tipper-over-roser.

I added a slider mechanism to the passenger seat roser. That seat too is now a tipper-over-roser-slider.

Regards,

PS: I believe that some seat options were just that: options. If I am right, not all CJs will be identically equipped.

RE: 79 cj 7 no brakes

My 79 has a fixed driver bracket w/ slider and a flipping passenger bracket w/o slider. I think it varied by year/model.

toughest bumpers for $$

Well, here is my perdicament. I want to buy a set of the 4WD brand "Racing Style Seat" (Item #754100) from www.4wd.com, but it requires a bracket (Item #754300)to fit the seat risers and/or sliders, the "*" for the seat reads "*4WDH seat bracket adapters required for 1976-90 Wrangler", and the "*" for the bracket reads "*Seat brackets must be equipped with factory-type seat track slider".
The BesTop risers (Item #'s #5125301 & #5125401) cost $160 each + the sliders(Item #5125501) cost another $90 each, but the "Racing Style Seat" only cost $47 each and the bracket only costs $50 each! Any body have any interpertations? Will my new RISERS and DRIVERS SIDE SLIDER work?(Passenger is a risen flip forward style, Driver is a risen slider/non flip)

Check out ebay for sliders and risers. You can get them cheap if you watch for a little while. I picked up some sliders for $10-15 to replace my broken one last year. You definitely won't pay $160 for the risers!
