every dj5 Ive seen the top is part of the tub and dont separate its one peice

Back in the early 1990's one of the 4WD magazines ran an article on chopping the top off a DJ, & converting it over with a CJ drivetrain. I have to agree to just use the DJ tub if you like that top so much.

Dj bodys twist alot when flexed own 2 postal jeeps both are twisted 1 nose sits to left as the rear sits to the right with a buckle on floor thers no real body suports and the other nose sits up middle down and rear up almost a v kinda look
dj frames are weaker also be better off just using a old cj tub and frame

That was true for early ones, but around '75 they started boxing the frames to handle bigger loads (my son's was used to haul mail trailers around the yard)
