Hello,
New to this forum but love it so far. I have just, in the last month brought a 80 cj-7. I beleive it has 4in lift springs but not sure, the guy I brought it from did not know much about it. I have a couple of question. I was thinking of doing a shackle reversal how I had it over at a friends shop with all the tool I need to do it with. Just want to asked what you might think of it and any advice. ok on more question. How much oil pressure should it have? after the motor warms up it has about 5 to 8 psi when idleing and 20 psi at road speed (45-55). i was thinking this was a little low, but it does not use any oil or have a bad leak. thanks Josh

Shackle reversal does make them ride better.

That does sound a little low for oil pressure. But I would check it with a mechanical gauge. CJs are known for bad gauges.

You could take off the 4" lift and install stock yj springs in spring over and have about 5" lift and alot more flex and smoother ride. I just finished this on my friends cj7 with great results. Shackle reversal will work good on your application if you stick with the 4" lift. Your oil pressure sounds really low. Check your gauge first. Start with the simple things first. As long as you have about 10psi for every 1000rpm your good. Any lower you are running the risk of bearing failure.
