I turned the key on my CJ today for the first time in 3.5 months, and it worked!!!! Minor difficulties aside, I was able to drive it around the block. It was getting dark and I hadn't got the headlights in yet, so that's it for the day, but the ground up rebuild is near completion.
For those of you who don't recall, I took a 79 rusted out CJ-7, put the drivetrain on an 83 frame, with a 95 YJ tub. Then I painted it glossy black instead of the old rusty orange color.
I still have to get the heater in, herculine the tub, bolt the seats and belts in, radio, headlights, tailgate, etc, but its mostly together and it runs! Woo-hoo!
Anybody know where the best deal in town is on a new Bestop supertop?
