OK...UPDATE! as Willie said..."On the Road again..."
Thanks to all the help with the Jeeper problems in recent post. Took it in this morning and the tech ran a series of test (I hung around and helped, which was cool)
1. the first thing he did was run a compression check--- all was within specs
2. then he did a vac check(smoke check) had a small leak around the throttle body shaft
3. hooked up to Computer-codes showed up-stream O2 (was replaced 3X last 8 months)
***showed a rich condition at first..played with connector and it went to lean.....????
4. I told him about you guys saying it was the MAP sensor
5. when he unhooked it it had a "oil" type substance coming out of the electrical plug?
6. the only MAP in town was at the stealership..but with his discount it was only 82.00
(vs. the 105.00 I found on-line)
7. when he changed it out the barometric pressure shot up 12 points. But the O2 still showed lean.
8. Changed out the O2 again..he reset some fuel settings and voila! CEL went out!
***engine leveled out..purred like a kitten! 8)
He said more than likely the MAP was the ROOT problem all along...causing the O2's to go out
Of course YOU GUYS knew that all along!

EDIT: Just still cross everything up that this is a perm fix!
