RE: keep the budget lift or lose it?

Hi, thanx for letting me in, I am new . I just bought a 2000 Wrangler sport 4.0. I noticed when I come to a stop light that the oil pressure drops to the first hash mark below 40. I don't feel or hear any difference and my tach doesn't show a drop in idle rpm? Normal or better get to the shop now?

Normal.. if it gets below 15 then worry.... Any engine with miles on it will drop to 40. My ZJ with 155k on it drops to almost 20 at idle but hits 50 on the highway.

RE: teraflex lift

I'll add another voice of reassurance here......yes, it's normal. My 80000 mile 99 drops to about 20 at idle when fully warmed up.

RE: SPOOL LOCKER?/ 3/4-1 ton axles

My needle is broken off, if your low pressure reading bothers you, it makes for a great mental fix

The YJ's oil pressure never drops below 30, even at idle. It just stays right between 30 and 50 all the time. This is the first vehicle I've had with an actual gauge instead of idiot lights, and I like it. Dad always told me to let the oil pressure come up when starting a vehicle before driving.....now I can actually see it when it's up!

I take that back, the old GMC POS has a gauge.....watched it drop from 40 to 0 one day on the way back from Wichita. And I had been wondering where all that smoke was coming from!!!
