Ok, i know you have probally beaten this subject to death but here is my question.

my shackles measure 5 1/2 inches between the center of the bolt holes. which means they are 1 1/2 inches longer than stock ones.

Is this going to be a problem for the CJ7's handling on the road?
How much wandering does it actually cause?

any input would help thanks

I don't think that will make a noticeable difference. Usually if you stay with a 1" shackle lift or smaller, the effects are nearly unnoticeable. with shackles that are 1.5" longer than stock, they will lift your Jeep approximately 3/4". Shackles are pretty easy to replace, so you can always switch them back if you don't like them.

Had a friend who did the same to his CJ. Never had a problem with it. I also did the same with my YJ and it still handles like a dream. Well, as good as a jeep can onroad. By the way, Sweet CJ, looks like a lot of love's been put into it.

I would also say you're good to go with those shackles. Wouldn't go too much longer than that, however.
