Soft Top Rott!?

Well, it's been around 70-80 around here so I decided to take my soft top off tonight for the week, but I think I have some dry rot. I started to take off the rear windows, and some of the threads ripped or separated from the top cover. Now, I am ticked. I know this happens, but I don't want to buy another soft top right now. Has anyone ever tried to suture or sew the zipper strip back on the canvas? I am figuring it will just rip again. If so, what are my other options? Does anyone know a Jeep Seamstress? Try your local friendly dry cleaners. We have one that does anything from alterations to shoe repair. I had them sew in a set of zippers in my Carharts.

My original door top on the passenger side ripped the zipper and Sunshine sewed it back in with heavy-duty thread for tents and canvas on her sewing machine. It worked fine. I ended up selling them after having to get a new top when the old top ripped off in the wind one cold day......
