I took the dash out of my cj7 yesterday to start wiring in some new guages. After what i saw i can say thins much, I have no idea how anything electrical on my jeep worked. Wires that looked like ground wires hangin by the firewall had power. Wires where someone before me had tried to pull power were crispy crittered and dead. The stereo only worked with the windshield wipers on. Every switch in the jeep was melted or corroded. Kind of left me wondering what other suprises were in store for me. So I tore out every wire in the jeep and removed the tub last night just wondering what I would find. Today I went out and pulled the engine transmission and transfer and I am starting over....again. Everything will be new. Brake lines fuel lines wiring harness fuel tank, nothing will be left as it is. I guess I should have done this to start with. Who knows there may be another build thread started on here.
